This Fall, D4SD will be hosting a series of collaborative design workshops aimed at exploring challenges and generating potential solutions for the housing crisis. Everyone who submits a design proposal by Oct 25 will be invited to showcase their ideas at the World Design Policy Conference on November 12, 2024. Connect with civic leaders and housing experts, get traction on your proposal, and win recognition and awards!
SIGNATURE EVENT
WORLD DESIGN POLICY CONFERENCE
November 12-13, 2024
Imagine showcasing your design ideas for how to address housing with civic leaders, city officials, and experts in the San Diego region. All teams who submit to the 2024 D4SD challenge will have a chance to attend the World Design Policy Conference on November 12th for an interactive design jam and awards ceremony. This is the opportunity to propel your ideas forward, to get feedback, and to take steps towards real change for our region.
At least one ticket per team will be provided with each valid submission (more may become available). Additional tickets can be purchased at a discounted rate and will be available on the World Design Policy Conference registration page, announced at a later date. Attendance is not required at this event to participate but at least one member must be present to be eligible for recognition and awards.

WORKSHOPS
D4SD will be hosting a set of design workshops this Fall. These are not required in order to enter the challenge. Attend to learn more about the housing topic, to find teammates, and to get inspiration for your design solution.
If you are planning to participate in D4SD this year, consider joining one of the design workshops —some in-person and some online (see below)— to practice empathy building, conducting research, problem framing, ideating, prototyping, and evaluating your ideas.

REQUEST A LOCAL DESIGN WORKSHOP
If your organization in the San Diego or Tijuana region would like to to participate in D4SD 2024, you can request to have the D4SD team facilitate a design workshop at your classroom, workplace, or gathering. Workshops can only be requested during the open submission period until Oct 24, 2024. If interested, please contact us at team@d4sd.org.
